Epic Parakeet

In Joey's English class, they had to write about their dreams. I don't know if this was exactly what the teacher had in mind, but I liked it.

I dream of being a bird. I would start my life in the depths of a petco, an awesome parakeet trapped in a life of cages and workers with lots of body piercings. I would spend months screaming at customers to save me from my crowded cage and ugly diseased neighbors. Finally a rich little girl would come in and rescue me in a cardboard carton. I would spend several months in an enormous cage with lots of food, until eventually the girl would get tired of me and replace me with a ferret. I dream of being bought by an infamous mob leader who would refuse to clean my cage, so I would get angry and sneakily saw my way through the bars with my beak. I would dial 911 on his phone so he would get caught before I escaped out the window. I dream of joining a group of pigeons owned by a gypsy who did magic tricks. When I got tired of being pulled out of a hat too many times I would escape again and meet a group of geese. I dream of flying across America seeing tourist spots. Someone would eventually capture me and put a tracker on me so by the time I was done sight seeing I would be as famous as Forest Gump for flying so far. In my lifetime I would run with ostriches, live in a penguin colony, and get even more famous for attacking a news anchor in the middle of a show. I would spend a day as one of those birds that gets into Sam’s Club and The Home Depot. I dream of dying high above the East coast. I would be sucked into the jet engine of a plane, but fortunately it would be a bunch of terrorists and I would foil a huge plot to bomb the U.S. I’d be a pretty epic parakeet.

Damon

I stumbled upon this photo of Damon this morning. It has to be one of my favorites. There is just something about his expression that makes me feel loved just looking at it. I like to think our love is 'tried and true'. I am so lucky to have Damon. Through the bad and the good, he still looks at me that same way, and I know I am truly loved.

What more could a girl ask for?

Newborn Needed

Anyone willing to let me photograph their new baby? I haven't done a baby shoot in almost a month, and I don't have another one booked for another month, and I having a baby craving. Doesn't have to be a newborn. Under a year, really...

Lemme know...
(I know what you are thinking and Yes, I am baby hungry, and No (ahem, Clay) I am not pregnant.)
Notice the new logo? Perfection, is it not?

New Toy

I just bought myself a new toy. I can't wait till it gets here. (I really hate Shewmakers (the 'super snotty, you're lucky we even let you walk into the store, let alone buy anything' camera store here.) They won't price match to B&H, so I am forced to order it online and anxiously wait for a few days. grrrr) Anywho...MY FIRST EVER MARCO LENS!!! YIPEE!!

This bad boy is so cool that you could put your finger on the lens glass, and this lens can focus on your fingerprint. (I'm making my 'totally excited isn't this amazing' face.) Bursting with excitement!!!

c) Bellafine Photography
d) Through the Looking Glass (this is my favorite...so far.)

Chirstmas Angel

This past Christmas Eve, we went to my aunt and uncle's home for what they called, "Follow the Star". We together, watch the Luke 2 movie, and then everyone follows the star (a light on top of the barn) out to the barn where there was a live nativity. Zoey was asked to be the angel. All Christmas season long, I was trying my hardest to teach Zoey why we celebrate Christmas, and about the Nativity Story. I still wasn't sure if she put two and two together. Then I came into the barn, fully expecting her to yell, "Look at me!" and twirling on top of the hay bales. Instead I found a quiet Mary, holding a little 8 week old baby boy, a sturdy looking Joseph, and an angel. Perched atop a hay bale, draped in white, looking down on the nativity scene with a calm, quiet sweetness.
Then I knew. She got it.

While in Snowflake for Christmas, I had my second cousin (I think?) Kate do some photography of mainly me and Damon. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! (The frame of the kids is priceless)

ACTION

This is my mantra for 2009.

The undertaking of a new action brings new strength.

I am not setting any 'resolutions' this year. Instead, I have decided to take action. I must admit, its empowering, and slightly intoxicating. After all, what good are resolutions without actions?

So here's to 2009, the year of ACTION.
